Fueled by concerns about the effects of HIV/AIDS on the lives of their children, two California mothers were inspired to create a non-profit organization, Until There’s A Cure® Foundation in 1993.
The Foundation was the first non-profit organization to create and sell a bracelet to raise funds for a cause. The original bracelet was designed by Isabel Geddes of Florence, Italy in 1993 – a symbolic, simple, elegant, cuff-style bracelet. What distinguishes our Foundation from others seeking to help those affected by HIV/AIDS is that the primary source of financing for this effort is The Bracelet. In featuring The Bracelet, our goals are to unite people around the world; to help increase awareness; and to promote compassion, understanding and responsibility.
Our product line has expanded to include many different bracelet styles, made of varied materials and are priced from $5 to $150. Several of our bracelets provide a market for HIV+ craftspeople and support AIDS care and prevention in the developing world.
